Richa Gangopadhyay

Richa Gangopadhyay is a South Indian film actress, model and former beauty queen. She made her acting debut in 2010 Telugu movie Leader. Later, she was seen in hit films like Mirapakaay and Mirchi. In 2011, she entered Tamil industry with the movie Mayakkam Enna. In a short span of her acting career she has acted with Tollywood star heroes like Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, Prabhas, Dhanush and Nagarjuna. She was last seen in 2013 flick Bhai.

Biography

Richa Gangopadhyay was born as Antara Richa Gangopadhyay on 20 March 1986 in New Delhi. She spent some years in Coimbatore and later moved to USA. She was brought up in Pennsylvania and Michigan counties. She did her schooling in Okemos High School. Richa has completed her Dietetics and Health Administration at Michigan State University.

She enrolled herself and received a diploma from Anupam Kher's acting school. She took a break from films and back to USA to pursue her education. In 2017, she has received MBA diploma from Olin Business School.

Richa Gangopadhyay was born to Utpal Gangopadhyay and Paula Gangopadhyay. Her father is Vice President of Netshape Technologies and mother is Director of Education at The Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. In March 2012 Richa's mother has been nominated as the Member of the prestigious National Museum and Library Services Board by Obama.

Career

Richa Gangopadhyay has started her career as a model at an early age. In 2007, she won the Miss Michigan pageant and Miss India USA 2007 at the 26th annual pageant held at Royal Albert's Palace in New Jersey. She also won the title of Miss Photogenic and qualified to represent USA in the 17th Annual Miss India Worldwide Pageant held in Johannesburg. She earned offers for work in fashion shows and modelling.

Richa featured in Vatika Almond Hair Oil ad and also worked as a model for Peter England, Malabar Gold and Kalaniketan. Soon she made her acting debut with Sekhar Kammula's Telugu film Leader. Later, she has done many Telugu and Tamil films. She was last seen in the Telugu movie Bhai opposite Nagarjuna.

Dating/Boyfriend

As per the sources, Richa previously dated Photographer-turned-Actor Sunder Ramu, who has threatened her with suicide if she doesn't marry him soon. But later they both ruled out the rumors. Currently, the actress is not dating anyone.
