Ravi Teja

Ravi Teja is an Indian film actor, who is best known as Mass Maharaja in Tollywood. He got his first break with the movie 'Karthavyam'. Later he has won the prestigious Nandi Special Jury Award, for his films 'Nee Kosam' and 'Khadgam'. Ravi Teja has appeared in over sixty films. He made his Bollywood debut with 1992 movie Aaj Ka Goonda Raj. He was last seen in the movie Bengal Tiger.

Biography

Actor Ravi Teja was born as Ravi Shankar Raju Bhupatiraju on 26 January 1968 in Jaggampeta, Andhra Pradesh. Due to his father's job, he has done his schooling at many places which includes Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal and finally in N.S.M. Public school Vijayawada. He completed Bachelors degree in Arts from Siddhartha Degree College, Vijayawada.

Due to his love over films, Ravi Teja shifted to Chennai and started his acting career with small roles. He has also worked as an assistant to director Krishna Vamsi. He is a huge fan of legendary actors late Sr NTR and Amitabh Bachchan.

After a long gap actor Ravi Teja is busy with handful of movies. He will be seen in the remake of Tamil hit film 'Bogan'. Director Lakshman, who handled the original will also direct the Telugu flick. Ravi Teja is playing Jayam Ravi role in Telugu, while SJ Suryah will play Arvind Swami's role.

Ravi Teja has signed a movie under Anil Ravipudi's direction titled "Raja..The Great". It is being produced by Dil Raju and will have Mehreen Kaur Pirzada as female lead. He will be playing the role of a blind man. The movie will hit the screens on 12 October 2017.

Ravi Teja is married to Kalyani, who was a distant relative of his maternal uncle. The couple has two children, daughter Mokshadha, who was born in 2003 and son Mahadhan born in 2006.

Career

Ravi Teja has started her acting career with a small role in Karthavyam. He worked in both television and films as an assistant director before entering into acting. He got his big break with Itlu Sravani Subramanyam in 2001. He joined Krishna Vamsi as an assistant director for Ninne Pelladatha and played a small role in the film.

His first film as a lead actor was Neekosam (1999), directed by Srinu Vaitla. In 2006, he worked with director S. S. Rajamouli for Vikramarkudu, which became a blockbuster hit. The year 2012 was one of the worst years in Ravi Teja's career.

He had 4 releases in that year but none of them clicked at the box office. After some gap he got a blockbuster hit with 2014 film Power. In 2015 he was seen in two movies Kick 2 and Bengal Tiger.
