R. Madhavan
R. Madhavan is an Indian actor, writer, film producer and television host. He began his acting career with ZEE TV's soap opera Banegi Apni Baat in 1996. He has been a supporter of the PETA programme in India and has appeared in events organised for the group's promotion. Madhavan owns a production company named Leukos Films, which produced his 2007 film Evano Oruvan. He was recently seen in Tamil movie Vikram Vedha.

He has won the Indian Championship for Public Speaking and was subsequently selected to represent India at the Young Businessmen Conference in Tokyo, Japan in 1992.
In 1997, Madhavan appeared in his first film role as an Indian police officer in Fred Olen Ray's Inferno alongside Don Wilson. He was about to make his debut into bollywood with the film Lakheli, but the film was cancelled after the production began.
In 1999, director Mani Ratnam called him for the romantic film Alaipayuthey, which was a blockbuster hit. His long-delayed Hindi film Taak Jhaank won positive reviews after premiering at the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival in 2013. His first Hollywood feature film is Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D.
The film featured R. Madhavan as a boxing coach opposite Ritika Singh. It is simultaneously made in Tamil with the name Irudhi Suttru.

Madhavan was born on 1 June 1970 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. After completing his graduation in electronics, he was chosen to represent India as its cultural ambassador from Rajaram College, Kolhapur to Canada.After completing the degree, he went on to teach communication and public speaking at workshops around India. Before starting his career in films, Madhavan has done a sandalwood talc advertisement for Santosh Sivan, who later recommended him to Mani Ratnam for Iruvar movie screen test. After the failure of this movie, he acted in hindi serials for awhile. Madhavan was born to Ranganathan and Saroja into a Tamil family. His father was a management executive in Tata Steel and his mother, was a manager in the Bank of India.
