Lakshmi Manchu

Manchu Lakshmi is an Indian film actress, producer and a television host. She is well known for her role in the American TV series Las Vegas. Later, she continued acting in Indian films, mostly in Tollywood. Lakshmi Prasanna co-owns and produces films under the banner of her name 'Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures'. She has hosted a television show "Lakshmi Talk Show". She was last seen in the movie Lakshmi Bomb.

Biography

Lakshmi was born as Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna on 8 October 1977 in Chennai. She has completed her Bachelors degree in Theater from Oklahoma City University and continued at USC for film production. She also attended training at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Manchu family is looking after the biggest chain of educational institutions named as "Sree Vidyanikethan". It consists of International School, Degree College, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, College of Management and College for Post Graduation Studies.

Lakshmi is the daughter of Mohan Babu, who is an actor, producer, politician and educationist from Andhra Pradesh. Her mother is late Vidya Devi. Her father was conferred with the prestigious National honor Padma Shri for his loyal services in the field of Art. He had acted in around 510 films. Her step-mother is Manchu Nirmala Devi. Lakshmi has two brothers Vishnu Manchu and Manoj Manchu who are also film actors.

Marriage/Husband

Lakshmi Prasanna was fallen in love with her classmate during her college and married him. But, due to the religious and status reasons she has divorced him within months. Later, she got married to a NRI Businessman Andy Srinivasan. She has a daughter with Andy whose name is Vidya Nirvana.

Career

Lakshmi is known through her role of Sarasvati Kumar in an American television series Las Vegas. The show gave her the chance to work with many Hollywood stars like James Caan, Sylvestor Stallone are just to name a few. She has appeared in national commercials campaigns for AARP, Chevrolet, and Toyota.

In 2006, Lakshmi Prasanna Manchu acted, directed and produced a short film 'Perfect Lives' that was screened at the Wilshire Fine Arts Theater as part of the La Femme Film Festival in Los Angeles. She has worked in around 20 feature films of India and US. She has hosted the shows like Prematho Mee Lakshmi, Luckunte Lakshmi, Doosukeltha and many more.
