Nithya Menon

Nithya Menon is an Indian actress and playback singer, best known in South Indian films. In 1998 she made her acting debut as a child artist in an Indo-English language film "The Monkey Who Knew Too Much". She made her Tollywood debut with Ala Modalaindi. Nithya has bagged 2 Filmfare Awards for her films Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde and Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju. She was last seen in Telugu movie Ghatana.

Biography

Nithya was born on 8 April 1988 in Bangalore, Karnataka. She has completed graduation in Journalism from Manipal Institute of Communication. She never thought to be an actor, but planned to be a journalist. But later she decided to be a film-maker and joined a course in cinematography at the FTI Pune. During her enterance exam she met director Nandini Reddy, which turned Nithya a successful actress.

Nithya Menon has roped in to play one of the three leads in actor Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film. It also features Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles.

As per the latest reports, Nithya Menon will be seen in a youthful romantic entertainer film which will be produced by actor Nani. It will be directed by Prasanth Varma which also featues Kajal Aggarwal. The movie is expected to go on the floors early next year.

Career

As a teenager, short beauty Nitya Menon was first seen in the Kannada film Seven O' Clock. Later she played the leading role opposite Mohanlal in Malayalam movie Aakasha Gopuram. Her first Telugu movie as an actor & singer was "Ala Modalaindi" alongside Nani, which earned her three awards. Later she was seen in the film 180 alongwith Siddharth and Priya Anand.

Nithya's 2012 release was the Telugu romantic hit film Ishq. In 2015, she starred in historical movie Rudramadevi. Her 2016 films are 24, Rajadhi Raja, Okka Ammayi Thappa, Janatha Garage, Iru Mugan (Tamil) and Ghatana.
